The omicron was born to approach a goal of advancing the state of the art in terms of easily attainable performance. The Omicron provides a large fraction of the performance of the best F3P models, for a small fraction of the effort and cost. All of the Buzzard Model kits are designed around a power combo as the electronics dictate the best size of the airframe. In the spirit of making the construction easier than most F3P aircraft, we wanted off the shelf plug and play electronics (no soldering). The 9-gram Pro Power combo meets that goal and is based on the popular and proven Ma-RX42E with optional SR3X gyro stabilization. The second most important part about the 9-gram pro power combo is the Happymodel EX1404-4800kv 8.7g Brushless Outrunner Motor, which is of unmatched quality and performance. Pairing these components with a high quality APC 6X3.1 prop, and a Lectron Pro 3.7V 250mAh 45C LiPo, yields an impressive 100+ grams of static thrust. The best part is that all of the components are plug and play, no soldering, or figuring out what plugs or adapters you need. Motivation for the extremely large control surfaces comes from one newly updated and more powerful BM15318S 2.2g Digital Servo for the ailerons, and two BM5320S 1.7g Digital Servo for each the elevator and rudder.
Building the Omicron easily was an important design consideration. The very small size of many of the parts and components is the only challenging part of this build which is easily overcome with some tools like tweezers and maybe a magnifying glass if your eyesight is not so keen. The basic construction is 3mm genuine Depron foam, reinforced with inlaid carbon fiber rods. All of the parts are precisely manufactured to assemble easily, and instructions are step by step with big pictures. The covering is a .0001" mylar film that is easily applied with spray adhesive, no ironing, no shrinking, no dope or paint. The kit comes unpainted, but is easily painted during assembly with common craft acrylic paints or colored markers, painting instructions are included. Also a full color printed decal sheet is included. Because of the completeness of the instructions, it is impractical to include printed versions with each kit, so they are available online only.

CNC cut composite control horns and firewall.
.0001” clear mylar covering, with printed decal sheet for decoration.
11 meters of carbon fiber rods for spars and structural reinforcements.
Hardened wire pushrod ends with z-bends for connecting to servos and composite control horns.
Pull-pull hardware kit for the elevator and rudder controls.
All necessary hardware to complete the aircraft.
